As a parent of a child with a language disorder and as a clinician Jolene has a wide lens on what it takes to support a child with communication difficulties. She has walked in your shoes and as such is able to readily support both the parent and child.

Jolene believes deeply that communication is at the core of enabling individuals to connect. She values a team approach with families and other professionals when supporting clients. Prior to becoming a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Jolene had a successful technology career as a Product Planner on the Office team at Microsoft. Her experiences with using data to drive decisions and translating complicated technology into consumable terminology for customers easily parlays into her role as a clinician.  She now analyzes assessment data to develop and implement individualized therapy plans for your child while helping parents more easily navigate complicated insurance billing and the science behind communication difficulties. She focuses on providing step-by-step action plans for what to do and how to get the best results for your child.

Jolene Rocchio graduated with a Masters of Science degree in Communication Disorders from San Francisco State University (SFSU) having received the distinguished achievement award for academic excellence. While at SFSU, Jolene was a selected participant in Project Common Ground, a US Department of Education supported grant that prepares Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) to work effectively with diverse children on the autism spectrum.  

 

Her clinical experience includes medical settings (UCSF and Kaiser), San Francisco public schools, SFSU Communication Clinic, and private practice. She has participated in all aspects of therapy from screening and assessments through developing and implementing direct therapy and home carryover programs.
